Dili, 07 November 2025 - through the team of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Culture (MESSK) evaluated the operational license for the program BACHELOR OF MEDICINE AND BACHELOR OF SURGERY (MBBS), University of Peace in the classroom of Prof. Dr. Lucas da Costa.

The Magnificent Rector of UNPAZ, Dr. Adolmando Soares Amaral, Lic. Eco.,MM. Declaring the MBBS program initiated by the President of the Republic, who at that time signed an agreement with the President of the Republic of India, so the Deputy Minister responsible for Education and Social Affairs also invited UNPAZ and UCT to India to sign a memorandum of cooperation with India for international MBBS classes in Timor-Leste.

MBBS program in other countries has been running, but in Timor-Leste for the first time MBBS in Timor-Leste to two institutions UNPAZ and UCT, so we try to follow and follow the one that has already run.

The documents of the MBBS program have been prepared here, to obtain an operational license, but the panelists have full responsibility to give recommendations to the Ministry for the operational license, but not UNPAZ initiated the opening of the MBBS program in Timor-Leste, but the political level between the State of Timor-Leste and India.

In the same place, MESSK representative, Ana Elizete de Jesus Neves, acknowledged the presence of the Ministry to accompany the evaluation process by the panelists, and will not intervene in any part, because the Ministry has entrusted two evaluators to evaluate the study program.

The two national evaluators, Dr. Mateus Pinheiro and Dr. Raimundo dos Santos, with a team from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Culture. Presence in the evaluation of the MBBS program, the University and Faculty Senate Structure, Vice-Rectors, Directors and Heads of Units including international class students of the MBBS program at the University of Peace.
