History

Universidade da Paz (UNPAZ) is a private University established on March 09, 2004 by Neon Metin Foundation which was founded by a group of Timorese Intellectuals after the exoneration to the rector with his leadership who led University of Dili. Upon his step down (Prof. Dr. Lucas da Costa) from his position as Rector of University of Dili, then he and his fellow friends established Universidade da Paz with the aims are to (1) bridge thousands of young high schools graduates who intend to proceed their studies in higher education a few years after the independence of Timor Leste Nation, (2) to assist people to invest their money in Timor Leste instead in other countries and (3) to facilitate those who want to maintain their works while studying. UNPAZ is One of the higher institution which is accredited Universities in Timor-Leste and it is also well-known as one of the biggest private university in Timor-Leste with about 9000-11000 students under the guidance of about 250 Lecturers.
