Vice Rector for Academic Affairs           


 The Vice Rector for Academic Affairs (VRAA) of the Universidade da Paz (UNPAZ) oversees the strategic development and quality assurance of all academic programs, ensuring that the university delivers excellence in teaching, learning, and research. The VRAA provides leadership in curriculum development, academic policy formulation, and faculty advancement, while promoting innovation and continuous improvement across all academic units.

The office of the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs works closely with faculties, departments, and administrative units to strengthen academic integrity, enhance student learning experiences, and uphold the university’s mission of peace, knowledge, and national development.
Core Responsibilities
Oversee academic planning, implementation, and evaluation of all study programs.
Ensure alignment of curricula with national and international academic standards.
Promote research, teaching excellence, and academic innovation.
Supervise the quality assurance process across all academic units.
Facilitate collaboration between faculties, research centers, and external partners.

Academic Units under the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs
1. UA-AAAE (Academic Affairs and Academic Excellence Unit)
The UA-AAAE is responsible for coordinating academic program management and fostering excellence in teaching and learning. It supports curriculum design, accreditation processes, academic staff development, and the continuous enhancement of pedagogical quality.

2. IQA (Internal Quality Assurance)
The Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) unit ensures that UNPAZ maintains high standards of academic quality and institutional performance. It develops and enforces quality assurance policies, conducts internal evaluations, and promotes a culture of quality improvement throughout the university.

3. Library
The UNPAZ Library serves as a vital academic resource center supporting education, research, and innovation. It provides access to diverse collections, digital databases, and research materials, while fostering information literacy and lifelong learning among students and faculty.

4. IT (Information Technology Unit)
The IT Unit under the VRAA provides digital infrastructure and technological solutions that support academic operations and innovation. It ensures the reliability, security, and accessibility of digital learning platforms, information systems, and communication networks across UNPAZ.
