Vision and Mission

Vision :

“To contribute to the development of a modern, civilized, fair and prosperous society in Timor-Leste”

Mission :

1. Providing of student learning and program improvement to demonstrate their effectiveness as educational institutions,
2. Institutional Vision and Mission Vision is the ideal of the institute wants to achieve. In shaping and producing multidimensional human beings, UNPAZ should carry out the ideal missions that lead to that vision. These ideal missions are constituted through strategic plans that are contextualized with the social dynamics. Since its establishment on March 9th, 2004 Universidade da Paz (UNPAZ) came up with the vision is “to contribute to the development of a modern, civilized, fair and prosperous society in Timor-Leste”. This vision was replaced with the new one in 2019. The new vision base on the annual workshop in 2019 “to be center of scientific study and learning, research, creative, innovative, world class entrepreneurs character and offer a great impact to the nation”. This vision eliminate the old version since establish the UNPAZ in 2003 that “to contribute to the development of a modern, civilized, fair and prosperous society in Timor-Leste” include recommendation from ANAAA/NAAA in 2009, 2015, 2019. By interpreting the new vision show in the bellow: Center of Scientific study and learning: That UNPAZ will become a center of quality study and learning. These statement supported by facilities and infrastructure as well as academically, politically and socially competent human resources to support the needs of markets, users and stakeholders that have positive implications for the development of the nation and state of RDTL. Center of Research: That the progress of science will be supported by research results which are strategies planned, recommendations and references for the development of RDTL development. Center of Creative: That UNPAZ graduates will be equipped with a level of genius and a progressive mindset to produce work that competes at both national and international levels. Center of Innovative: UNPAZ will graduate and produce the core intellectual that have the competitiveness and creativity of physical works which are assets of educational institutions and mirror for the national development of RDTL. Center of World class entrepreneurs’ character and offer a great impact to the nation: That UNPAZ is a private university that has an independent character and has a self-sufficient entrepreneurial spirit in ensuring the sustainability of the three principles of higher education to compete at national, international and regional levels. In pursuing that vision UNPAZ calls for itself the mission show in the bellow:
3. Providing higher education opportunities to the entire society in order to mold intellectuals and professionals that master science and technology, and always be aware towards cultural transformations within the society.
4. Providing committed educators, professional in the field with core values of the Institution.
5. Provide the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to enable individual and team to perform to their maximum potential.
6. Prepares students for leading personally‐satisfying lives as productive members of society with emphasis on careers in the economic as accounting, management and banking, health, political science and humanities as development policy, peace study and international relationship, engineering through and any industry, criminal law, administration law, and diversification of any product from agriculture technology.
7. Keeping consistent quality control and management so learning, research and community services promote autonomous and responsible learners.
8. Guiding students to deepen self-regulation through the Philosophy “SAPIENTIA ET HUMANISMUS” entailing kindness, humility and solidarity.
9. Guaranty the quality of input, outcomes, and output, so that the graduates are skill full and achieve excellence through competitive academic, research and community services by adapting economic, health, humanities, engineering, law and diversification of any product from agriculture technology field practices in Timor-Leste.
10. Facilitating students with tools to gain quality skills and knowledge so to be professional in their area/field.
11. Cultivating behaviours that shows ownership of choices made which benefit the well-being of others in society so to be role models.
