Abstract 

This article attempts to understand the concept of “Rechtsstaat and the rule of law” by outlining theories about “Rechtsstaat and the rule of law” regulated in the Constitution of the Republic of Timor-Leste (Constituição da República Democrática de Timor-Leste – CRDTL 2002). This article is an assignment for the Comparative Constitutional Law course.
